About Customer

UPS is one of the world’s largest companies, providing end-to-end integrated logistics and transportation solutions for customers in more than 200 countries and territories.

In Taiwan, UPS recently opened its new Taoyuan International Logistics Center (TILC), its largest logistics facility in Asia Pacific. The technology-enabled facility combines intelligent automation and data-driven operations to strengthen operational flexibility and support future growth across Asia Pacific.

The Challenge

As customer expectations continue to evolve, UPS sought ways to increase warehouse performance and capacity while maintaining the speed, accuracy, and reliability customers expect. The team was focused on:

  • Making better use of available warehouse space
  • Reducing manual, time-intensive sorting and inventory processes
  • Improving speed and consistency in order fulfilment
  • Building a scalable operation that could support future growth

The Solution

To support these goals, UPS deployed Geekplus’ Tote-to-Person RoboShuttle solution (RS8+P40) at its Taoyuan facility. The implementation introduced several capabilities:

  • Automated tote-to-person workflows to streamline order picking
  • High-density storage to maximize available warehouse space
  • Real-time visibility into warehouse operations
  • Flexible inventory management to support changing customer demand
  • Scalable automation designed to support future growth and peak-season volumes

Geekplus worked closely with UPS throughout the implementation, including proof-of-concept testing, employee training, and operational planning.

The Outcome

The result is a smarter, faster, and more scalable warehouse operation that enables UPS to support customers with the speed, accuracy, and reliability they need as supply chain demands continue to evolve.

Key outcomes include:

  • Higher storage density and more efficient use of warehouse space

  • Faster and more responsive order processing

  • Improved inventory accuracy and operational visibility

  • Greater flexibility to support changing customer demand

  • More sustainable, energy-efficient operations

Looking Ahead

As supply chains become more complex and customer expectations continue to evolve, UPS is investing in technology, infrastructure and its people to help customers move goods with greater speed, visibility and control.

The Taoyuan facility is one example of how UPS is using intelligent automation to create smarter, more flexible logistics operations that help customers navigate increasingly complex supply chains and grow with confidence.
